Specifies equations for the calculation of the annual energy consumption of electric and gas storage water heaters based on a daily energy output of 37.7 MJ (equivalent to 200 L of water raised in temperature by 45 degrees Celsius). Equations for gas water heaters are not specified directly but by reference to AGA Code AG 102. Derivation of equations for electric water heaters is given in an appendix.
